Scientists believe that a mutant breed of giant catfish has been eating people in India. Sounds like some kind of horror film premise, but it's the real deal. They think it developed a taste for human flesh feeding off corpses from Indian river funeral ceremonies.

APRIL FOOLS!

No seriously, I've never even met the guy. [info]explorer_fam contacted me about a week or two ago saying he wanted to pull a fast one this April 1st on some of his friends, who knew he was dating someone, but didn't know who it was. So I decided to go along with it. Here is the original e-mail he sent me, concerning the prank. It was all his idea:

Hey, Adrian!

I was actually wondering if you could participate in something that I am setting up. As you know, I am going to be performing pranks on people. Here's a secret though, (that I would like you to keep between you and me) I plan on playing a gigantic prank on numerous LJ friends all in one swoop at the very exact same time. The only way for this to work, however, is the participation of someone on my f-list who can play along and make this prank to be as realistic and mind-numbing as possible!

Here's where you come in. I want you to be a part of my huge prank. But it is not going to be easy, because for the prank to work- I will fooling you as well, as it may appear. Here's the plan:

On March 31st, next week's Monday, I will make a LiveJournal post toward the late evening. This post will be discussing a date I went on with you, AmazingAdrian, and all the silly small details and places we went to and what happened. Here's the kicker; this date will completely false. The details will be completely made up. It will be a huge prank that will make heads turn for sure! Mostly because people have been wondering who I have been "dating" for over a year now. And I plan to keep it that way except for this prank which will be clarified the day after April Fools (April 1st).

So...no. I never hooked up with [info]explorer_fam, and am completely straight besides. When we do meet, assuming he can make it to the Gathering of the Gargoyles convention, it will be for the first time, and it will also be my first time in Chicago.

That said, even though the account of our "date" was false, I'd like to thank those who spoke up here in support of me. It's nice to know I've got friends who have my back, regardless of what I may decide to do with myself. That's what really counts.

As for Shadowlight, well, he seems like a cool guy, and I look forward to meeting him for reals. Thanks for letting me in on your prank Shad; we got some interesting results. XD

Take care! Hope April Fools day wasn't so harsh on the rest of you!

My weekend
AmazingAdrian

I had a pretty good weekend.

Went back home again to see the family. The kittens are doing well, they're still very tiny, but are moving around and playing now.  They're so cute!  I'd put up some pictures of them here, but as I'm running System Mechanic 6 as I type this, I don't want to overtax my system.  As it is, it looks like it'll take a day and a half to fully complete scanning and repairs.  Let's hope it does the trick though, and eliminates all of my nasty runtime errors and generally make my computer run faster.

My brother was moving into this house that he is renting.  It's the kind of house that most people wouldn't think twice about renting, but he really needed someplace, and I guess that's the one he's going with.  It will get him out of the situation he was in back at the apartment, so it's cool. In all actuallity though, it really wouldn't be that bad a house with some good fixing up.  From what I've heard about it, it used to have holes all over in the floor and walls, as well as not have any celeing, plust some cracks in the roof where plants were growing in.  It's more liveable now, but still needs a lot of work done to the walls.

Bro also got a copy of Twighlight Princess on the GameCube, so I spent much of the weekend playing that (as well as trying out Dungeon Seige 2 for the PC).  Twighlight Princess is awesome.  It's what Zelda on the GameCube should have been. I just made it past the first dungeon, so I can't say much yet about it overall, but it seems to be a quality game, even without the motion sensor gimmics it gets on the Wii. So yeah, I'm loving Nintendo right now, for actually bringing that out on the Cube.  I really didn't think they were going to, but I guess they felt like they owed it to their fans.  Dungeon Seige was ok. Generic PC RPG, I suppose.  I didn't get very far in that one either, but I like how the level system works. You fight like whatever class you want, and if you keep at it long enough, you'll specialize in that class's fighting style.  You level dynamically like this in melee, combat magic, nature magic, and ranged as you play the game.  They recommend that you choose a class and stick with it as being a jack of all trades weakens your character, but I'm going to see how much I can stick my character with on a skewed experience table.  Don't really know where she'll end up being strongest in.

All in all, nice relaxing weekend. It looks like this coming week will be busy, but I sure hope it isn't!

Today has been one of those days I guess. Sometimes I just wake up feeling slow in the head.  Just generally not "all together in body and mind". It's days like these I tend to say too much, jump to stupid generalizations and conclusions, or fail at intellectual thought processes I normally slide through.  I also tend to get really naieve and gullible. Some people attribute these things to the alignment of the planets and stuff, Just generall off-day negativity.  I feel better now than I did earlier, thanks to a nap before work, and getting some food that I didn't have to prepare. Still pretty much wasted the day.

Oh, and yesterday I managed to score the good ending to StarFox DS. And let me tell you, it was frigging hard to do.  I  went from having some 9 ships to 0 with two wingmen down and Fox at less than full health. I decided to use Fox because of his tracking beam, which really helped against the boss. Then when I beat him, he attacked me in a different form, and I only had a sliver of health left! Those were some heart pounding moments, and by the time I nailed him, my hands were hurting. It was a good feeling though.  Now I just need to change my screen cover, which got pretty gouged up (I -hope- it's the cover. I might need to get it replaced if it was the screen underneath that gouged). So very glad that I got one before I started playing the game seriously.
